2008 Season Points Champion In Each Class Will Earn A "GOLD CARD"
The top point earners in each of the categories will receive a “gold card” for the 2009 season! The gold card entitles that person a free entry to each of the scheduled races of the 2009 season in that particular category (Pro-1 points champion earns free entries to Pro-1 the following season).
How points are counted:
Winner: (1st) 100 points
Runner/up: (2nd) 90 points
semi's: (3rd-4th) 80 points (up to a 4 car field)
qtrs: (5th-8th) 70 points (up to an 8 car field)
eights: (9th-16th) 60 points (up to a 16 car field)
sixteenths: (17th-32nd) 50 points (up to a 32 car field)
thirty
secondths: (33rd-64th) 40 points (up to a 64 car field)
Registration: 10 points
We will also be doing bonus and qualifying points. These will be used to break
ties.
Bracket classes: First round of eliminations...the person with the best light
will receive 10 points, second best light will receive 9 points, third best
light will receive 8 points, etc. If a .415 light is the best light of first
round, that person would receive the 10 points. If there are two .400 lights
first round, the person that did it first would receive the 10 points. This is
for first round winners.
Points will work the same in the heads-up categories with the exception of
qualifying points. The fastest qualifier will receive 10 points.
Index classes will be closest to the index without going under. Example: (2.95
index) Racer "A" runs a 2.99. Racer "B" runs a 2.94. Racer "A" would be the
better qualifier.
If you won the race and had the best light or were number one qualifier, you
would receive a total of 120 points for the race (100 points for winning, 10
points for registration and 10 points for qualifying).
